CHEESE BROUGHT US TOGETHER...

The WNC Cheese Trail was created in 2012 by a group of cheese makers located in Western North Carolina.  

Our Mission is: To promote production and sale of WNC artisan cheese, facilitate consumer education, and encourage tourism to the region to benefit our members.

Since printing our first WNC Cheese Trail map & brochure, the organization has nearly doubled in size by adding more WNC Cheese Makers and by attracting the support of local businesses. 

Our organization continues to host the  Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest    which draws over 1700 attendees, cheese makers, and numerous artisan producers from across the region. The festival also offers fun workshops, demonstrations and pairings all geared to deepen one’s love and appreciation of quality cheese.

It takes a team to make all of this happen. In addition to a small board of directors made up of our Principle Cheese Makers and community food enthusiasts, the Trail has a small, but mighty, team of part-time helpers including an executive director, social media coordinator, and a membership coordinator.
